How to use project wide attributes

Learn how to setup centrally managed attributes which can help consistency, efficiency and analysis across layers.

What Are Project-Wide Attributes?

Project-wide attributes are centrally managed attributes that can be applied across multiple layers in your project. They’re ideal for maintaining consistency and simplifying data management.

Benefits include:

  • Reduced duplication: Define the attribute once—apply it to any layer. Updates to the attribute automatically reflect across all layers.
  • Consistency: Ensure uniform data standards across layers.
  • Cross-layer analysis: Analyse attribute data across layers.

How to Create Project-Wide Attributes

Only project administrators can create and manage project-wide attributes. If you're not an admin, contact one to assist.

Steps for Project Administrators:

  1. Navigate to Settings in the left-hand navigation on the dashboard.
  2. Open the Attribute Settings tab.
  3. Click to add a new attribute.
  4. Select the attribute type (e.g., text, list) and name it.
  5. (Optional) For list attributes, add selectable items and define additional columns if needed.
