Iventis Glossary

A summary of Iventis terminology to get started.

Attributes

An attribute is a property associated with a layer. These properties can include text, numerical values, images, links, dates, time ranges, checkboxes, and lists.

Base map

A base map serves as the background for your plan. Users can select from various options, including Google Maps, Bing Maps, Ordnance Survey, Open Street Map and more. Custom base maps can also be integrated upon request

Default Map View

This is the default saved view that loads when the user first loads the map or when the user clicks on <Plan Default> in the search window.

Folder

Folders can be created to organise your plans according to your organisation or event structure.

Hover Label

This is the pop-up label that appears on screen when you hold your mouse over an object on the plan.

Iventis - Planner

The Iventis platform is used by event organisers and venue managers for spatial planning tasks.

Layer

A layer represents different types of objects within a plan. A layer only contains one type of geometry, such as lines, points, areas or 3d models.

Object Details Box

This is the interface that pops up from the bottom of the layer navigation panel on the left side of the screen. When you click on a map object, you can view and edit attributes here

Objects

Objects are individual items that you can create and place on the plan. These can include:

·      Points: simple markers, such as a dot plan.

·      Icons: representations of facilities or amenities.

·      Lines: Depictions of routes, pathways or fence lines.

·      Areas: Designated zones or block plans.

·      3D-Models: See 3D Model library.

·      3D-Line Models: For 3D renderings of barriers.

Plan

A plan in Iventis is created on top of a base-layer map, allowing you to build and manage your operational plans

Saved View

This is when the user saves a view and zoom level on the plan so that it is easy to pan between different views.

Site Map

A site map is a key location or venue. It can be a detailed CAD drawing overlaid on the base map to provide important context, particularly for indoor events

View-Only-link

This is the URL that is produced when the user clicks on the <Share Plan> option. The URL can be used to show Plans to external stakeholders who do not have an Iventis account.

Permissions

Data in Iventis can be permission-controlled, which is particularly important for larger, cross-functional teams. Permission controls can be applied at the Folder, Plan and Layer levels.
