1. Creating a plan
From the dashboard, click "Create a new plan"
Choose a name for your plan, such as "Event Overview". You can use multiple plans for different locations, or specific aspects of your event.
By default, your plan will be saved in "My Workspace". This is an area only you can access. You can change the location if you wish, such as to the "Team Workspace" where you can collaborate on plans with your team.
Click "Create Plan"
2. Finding your location
Next, you'll need to find the location of your event.
You can use the search bar in the bottom-left to find locations like "London", or zoom into the map using your mouse wheel, or the controls in the bottom right.
Once you zoom in, you will be asked if you want to save the default location. This is the position the map will show next time you open it.
You can edit or save more map locations from the search bar. This means you could save multiple important map locations.
2. Choosing a Map Background
The Iventis Planner includes various map background to choose from, including lighter versions and satellite imagery.
Click on the Background Map selector to view the different options. Click a background map to preview it, and press "Save and Close"
You can switch background map at any time.

Layers are used to organise your plans. Each layer contains a different set of objects on the map, such as barriers or staff.
Click on the + button at the top of the side panel.
You can create a layer from a ready made template, or create a custom layer from scratch.
Choose a layer then press "Add to plan".
Your new layer will appear selected in the layer panel on the left. All your layers will appear here.
To add an object to the map, use the drawing toolbar in the top-right.
Depending on the type of layer (such as points, lines or areas) you can choose the type of shape to draw.
Then, click on the map to start adding points. For lines and areas, you click to create each corner of the shape.
When finished either double click, or click the green tick on the toolbar.
